Technically, I don't meet my insurance company's criteria as my BMI was just under. However, both the doctor and staff made some "adjustments" to get the numbers to exactly where they needed to be in order to satisfy my insurance company.
He will send the report off to my insurance company and hopefully, they'll give me a preauthorization for surgery in three months.
The things I need to complete in order to get the surgery
- Necessary lab work
- Meet with a psychologist once
- Meet with a nutritionist once a month for the next three months - first appointment is next Tuesday.
- and lastly, schedule an appointment with an endocrinologist to get my A1C down. I'm at 10 right now and need to be at 8 in order to get this surgery.
